GREATER BAYFIELD WASTE WATER TREATMENT PLANT
The Greater Bayfield Waste Water Treatment Plant was constructed and went on line in 2006 funded by both the City of Bayfield (82%) and the Pike’s Bay Sanitary District (18%). Funding was obtained from a federal grant and a loan with the Wisconsin Clean Water Fund. Payment for the construction loan, and facility replacement costs, are accomplished as a tax levy on non-agricultural use properties within the District. Operating expenses are paid by the PBSD Users who are discharging waste into the mains of the PBSD based on the measured flows from PBSD compared to those from the City of Bayfield and the discharge of hauled waste.
